Some of Utah’s best bass fishing is found at Sand Hollow Reservoir. Sand Hollow also offers very good fishing for bluegill. Other reservoirs in the area Quail Lake, Gunlock and Lake Powell also provide bass fishing. Quail Lake is usually good for trout in the early and late parts of the year, but that action slows during the heat of the summer. Trout are also found in the numerous small streams in the mountains around the Sand Hollow area.
Sand Hollow is within a few hours of great hunting areas of the Pine Valley Mountains. Wildlife that are available in Utah range from Mule deer, elk, antelope, to pheasants and wild turkeys. Hunting is allowed in most public areas of the state, except national parks, monuments and state parks. Red Cliffs Rifle and Pistol range is located within the Southern Utah Shooting Sports Park and is an ideal place for the entire family to enjoy safe target shooting that’s budget friendly.
